Lord Mayor Graham Quirk tours Brisbane’s landmark retirement development

Construction on Aveo Group’s landmark 19-storey vertical retirement community in Newstead is well underway with the $200 million dollar development due for completion in June 2018.

Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, accompanied by Councillor Vicki Howard, Central Ward, toured the Aveo Newstead building this week hosted by Aveo Group’s CEO Geoff Grady and the Aveo management team, to establish how construction is progressing.

The Lord Mayor and Cllr Howard were given an exclusive ‘sneak peek’ of level 19, one of the penthouses as well as level five which will offer an exclusive community recreation area dedicated to the residents, featuring over 3000 m2 of landscaped gardens including an activity lawn overlooking the Gasometer.  A restaurant and bar, demonstration kitchen, lounge, golf simulator, private movie theatre, billiard room, business center and craft room are also well underway.

The tour also included the state-of-the-art Aged Care Facility offering two floors of unrivalled flexibility and assurance for residents that their care needs can be catered for within the one community.
