Leading retirement provider Aveo Group and Deputy Mayor Patricia White will officially open a $12 million new stage to Aveo’s Island Point community on Thursday 25 October.
To meet the demand of the St Georges Basin region, the latest stage of Aveo Island Point will accommodate a new community centre and an additional 31 independent living units.
The independent living units within the new stage are priced from $409,000 and include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one car garage, outdoor patios and landscaped gardens to ensure retirees are able to enjoy the lifestyle in a community located just 800m to the popular waterfront.
The highly anticipated community centre is designed to cater to the needs of current and future retirees, with residents being highly involved in the planning stage. Amenities include an indoor swimming pool, gym, billiards lounge, bar, library, salon, common area and men’s shed.
Aveo Head of Community for their Southern Region, Angela Buckley, said the new community centre at Aveo Island Point will provide the close-knit community with modern amenities that meet all their needs, providing a social hub for the ever-growing village.
“We anticipate the new stage units will follow the same success of the last stage and sell out quickly, reflecting demand for retirement living and downsize options that don’t compromise on location or lifestyle,” Ms. Buckley said.
“Residents choose to retire at Aveo Island Point for the sea change or because of their connection to this beautiful region – it is easy to see why this community is in high demand.
Resident, Margaret Hatton, and her husband John knew exactly what they were looking for when they moved into Aveo Island Point a little over two years ago after working in the retirement industry for many years.
“Location was very important to us – this community [Aveo Island Point] is surrounded by gorgeous scenery, the shops and services are at our doorstep,” Mrs. Hatton said.
“The design and layout [of our home] is cosy and we feel completely at home – we love our garden and have the flexibility to landscape to our liking, however help is at hand should the need arise.”
Mrs. Hatton added that one of the most important aspects of village life was the friendship and care from both staff and community and that the new community centre would become the social hub of the village with every convenience for them to enjoy.
The official opening ceremony will be held on Thursday 25th October at 11:30am with Deputy Mayor Patricia White to cut the ribbon and unveil the plaque, followed by a community lunch and live entertainment to celebrate.
