Meet Wendy, the incredible Care Manager at Freedom Morayfield.
Wendy is a qualified Registered Nurse with over 30 years’ nursing experience and 10 years’ experience in care management positions.
She joined Freedom Morayfield’s care and community team just over 12 months ago, overseeing and ensuring that the community is a welcoming, safe and secure environment for residents and staff.
We caught up with Wendy recently to see what she has to say about the community.
Tell us about life at Freedom Morayfield.
“The lifestyle here is fantastic. The residents are encouraged to maintain as much independence as possible, and keep contacts and attend activities inside and outside the community. They can come and go freely and are often seen encouraging others to be involved in activities from the gardening club, sewing group, cooking club, wood making in the men’s shed, playing pool or darts, exercise groups, games and other activities.”
What’s the best part about working at Freedom Morayfield?
“The people, everyone from the residents and their families through to staff and allied health. Everyone has a real desire to help the residents make the most of life, and help them gain a sense of fun and enjoyment in their day-to-day lives. That’s really important to our care staff.”
Would you say that Freedom Morayfield is a welcoming and safe place to call home?
“Absolutely! We all work together, staff and residents, to make the community an inclusive and social place to call home. I also think the care and support we provide offers real peace-of-mind for residents and their families, and that’s really what sets us apart.”
