Incredible artists at Freedom Hawthorn

Freedom Aged Care Hawthorn has discovered some incredible artists!

Annabel, Sylvia and Deidre have been learning to paint from Ruth, the community's Diversional Therapist, and the artworks they have created are incredible.

All three ladies have enjoyed channelling their inner artist.

"I decided to try painting to see first if I could do it, as I've never painted before. Pleasantly, I was surprised and found it challenging but enjoyable." - Annabel

"I was enjoying living here, but once I started art, I so enjoyed it I stopped feeling old. Ruth was an excellent teacher and she was very patient. I really do love my art." - Sylvia

"When I take a brush in my hand, dip it in water and begin to paint a picture that I see in my mind’s eye, something is released from the anxieties of everyday." - Deidre
