Residents at Aveo Bridgeman Downs recently hosted a country-themed luncheon event to raise money for Australian farmers suffering in drought-stricken areas. Over $2,000 was raised by the generous residents on the day.
Many of the residents who attended understand the struggles of farming during a drought as they themselves grew up on farms during droughts and floods.
Farm animals visited residents and staff, who were all dressed in country style costumes. Residents had a great time nursing and patting the goats and cats. Everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch of Aussie hamburgers and chips then scones with jam and cream for afternoon tea.
The day was a great success filled with lots of laughs for a good cause.
