Aveo Botanic Gardens residents knit trauma dolls

Crafty Aveo Botanic Gardens residents have put their knitting needles together for a great cause!

After hearing about those who lost everything in our horrific bushfire season, 15 motivated residents began to meet every week in January to knit trauma dolls to send to the disaster zone.

Trauma dolls are widely used in hospitals and other situations to help children recover from trauma. To date, the group have completed 85 of these dolls, each unique with a little bit of the knitter's personality.

These dolls are now on their way to the fire-affected zone.

The group are hoping to keep knitting and are happy to act as a drop-off point for anyone who would also like to contribute their own knitted creations.

If you wish to drop off a completed doll, you can bring it to Aveo Botanic Gardens.
