Anzac Day presentation for resident veterans

Tim Wilson MP, Federal Liberal Member for Goldstein attended the Anzac Day ceremony at Aveo Freedom Aged Care Sandringham last week to present the Australian flag to resident veterans living at the community.

The resident veterans who were celebrated at the ceremony included; 100-year-old Ralph Butcher OAM who was recognized in last years’ Queen’s Birthday Honours, Joy Tate who was a nurse in the Royal Air Force, Cal Hayes, Ed Patrick and Frank Burke.

The ceremony took place in front of the ‘Wall of Pride’ which proudly displays resident veterans photos and memorabilia within the community centre at Aveo Freedom Aged Care Sandringham.

Everyone enjoyed the ceremony and paid their respects to those who have served for our country. Lest we forget.
