Congratulations to Ron and Fay Hunter, residents at Freedom Sandringham, who recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary!
Their special day was commemorated with a delicious cake made by the community chef and generously shared with the other residents to brighten their day too.
Both born in 1934 on the same street, Ron and Fay have both lived lives of coincidence. As children, they both attended the London Olympics in 1948, and later as adults, worked in offices facing each other over Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, Scotland.
First introduced by the mother of Ron's best friend, the pair met every weekend to go to the theatre to see musicals and operas, always enjoying a spaghetti dinner afterwards.
In 1960, Ron and Fay married at Christ Church Morningside in Edinburgh, and later honeymooned in Paris and Antibes.
Congratulations again Ron and Fay – we wish you all the happiness in the world!
