Bonding between young and old has so many benefits; many that residents at Aveo Durack are enjoying.
The team at Aveo Durack retirement village have embraced intergenerational activity with an ageless playgroup. Residents come together in the community centre each week to meet with a group of parents and cheeky children from Playgroup Queensland.
Helen Bond, Lifestyle Coordinator at the community said it was fantastic initiative that the residents love.
"Last year, our sales team suggested that we reach out to Playgroup Queensland to start an ageless play session. Since then, the group visit us every Tuesday morning.
"Residents look forward to catching up with the playgroup families each week to play, read books, have sing-a-longs and see what new skills their little friends have mastered.
"Residents, including some of our male residents, chat with the new parents about their own children and the stages of growing up, and enjoy sharing their experiences. The residents and playgroup families have come to know each other quite well."
Congratulations to Aveo Durack - such a wonderful initiative for both residents and the wider community.
