The Opportunity

Reporting to the State Facilities Manager, and closely supporting a team of staff across our portfolio of retirement villages, your purpose is to make Victorian Aveo communities the most desirable place for retirees to live, through building asset management.

Your focus will be to ensure programs are in place to maintain assets across our Victorian sites, and to deliver asset management projects in a timely manner. This is a regional, multi-site role, where you will enjoy connecting and interacting with internal teams, and being the Subject Matter Expert on all maintenance, repair, and facilities management.

You Will

  • Manage "repair and upgrade" projects to village communal buildings and grounds
  • Write scoping documents for quoting purposes
  • Organise and request quotations for works or services
  • Be the 'Trusted Advisor' and 'Subject Matter Expert' for Facilities Management projects and tasks. Monitor and ensure that periodic meetings and reviews are held with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Review Village Maintenance Service Contractors to ensure company quality standards are achieved and maintained
  • Conduct site reviews which include quality and risk assessment on each village as required
  • Assistance with the implementation and creation of the asset register
  • Assist with all legislative and statutory compliance
  • Partner with procurement to conduct SLA and KPI reviews including vendor compliance 

What You'll Bring

  • Formal qualifications in trade, building, construction, facility management and/or property-related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in facilities management and/or project management (preferred)
  • Previous experience negotiating with contractors (preferred)
  • Previous experience in project managing maintenance and construction works
  • Computer literate - must be competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in cost/estimating material and labour rates
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a team environment and hold superior communication skills
