Group Manager - Developments Finance

Role overview

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer you will assume overall responsibility for the Developments financial and management reporting, delivering decision support and other information to the CEO, CFO, Head of Development and other direct reports.

The Development Finance Team provides timely, reliable and accurate financial and non-financial information to stakeholders within Aveo to assist in the achievement of the groups Strategic Goals

You will

  • Prepare and deliver P&L and Cash Flow of Developments (both Retirements and Non-Retirements) annually in the Business Planning Process for Aveo Group
  • Deliver on Development Projects budgets that meets the groups strategic needs and goals and set KPI's/Metrics
  • Preparation of Department Budgeting in conjunction with Head of Development.
  • Quality financial reporting to executives, divisional management, residents and operations
  • Supervision and preparation of monthly reporting
  • Accountable for year-end and half-year reporting for IPUC reconciliation and valuation assessment (Retirement Developments)
  • Guidance and support when preparing and submitting Stage Gate/Board Papers for future development proposals, capital works and acquisitions.
  • Supporting Development Managers in maintaining, updating and analysing project feasibilities in both Estate Master DF and DM
  • Preparation of scenario analysis on redevelopments and assessing preferable development scenarios
  • Regular review of coding to projects, cost reallocations, providing guidance on GST treatment.


What you'll bring

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar finance management accounting position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of profit and loss management, forecasting, budgeting and accounting processes.
  • A strong understanding of project job costing and investment property accounting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of profit and loss management, forecasting, budgeting and accounting processes
  • Analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated delivery of process improvement
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce
  • CA/CPA qualification or other post graduate qualifications
  • Previous Business Partnering experience is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in achieving results and ability to prioritise work in accordance with reporting needs.
