The Opportunity

Located in Ormiston, Cleveland Gardens Retirement Living is a large retirement living community, home to 200+ independent living units filled with gardens, croquet lawns, bowling green, a workshop, and much more! Our Cleveland Gardens team have a rare opportunity for two Maintenance Gardeners to join our team! In this role, you will enjoy working closely with staff and residents to ensure all grounds, buildings and fixtures are well-maintained, presentable and safe for all to enjoy. If you love spending time outdoors or enjoy being hands-on completing light maintenance requests, and are looking for a friendly team to join - this is a perfect opportunity! Please note - these roles are a mix of maintenance/repair and gardening. If you prefer one over the other, we still want to hear from you.

We have two permanent full-time opportunities available - Monday-Friday 7-3pm.

You will

  • Attend to various maintenance requests around the village to create a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff 
  • Ensure projects/tasks undertaken are safe, timely and completed to a high standard
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules 
  • Ensure all community spaces are appealing and safe for our community and visitors
  • Build strong relationships with our residents and enjoy helping them to live their best lives with well-maintained areas.

What you'll bring

  • An outgoing personality with an interest in making a difference every day and learning new skills!
  • Experience in General 'Handyperson' Maintenance or Gardening roles (highly desired)
  • Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not possess, we can complete for you)
  • Valid driver's licence (required)
  • Minimum two (2) COVID-19 doses (required)
