On Wednesday, Aveo Fulham Retirement Village celebrated their annual Mother’s Day event; where residents and family guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal with live entertainment, as well as a little take home memento of handmade paper tea cups filled with teabags and chocolates.
This year a game was held for residents where they had to match up baby and adult photos, of 10 residents in the village who had volunteered to participate. Much to everyone’s surprise, the game was quite difficult and many people were unable to match any up at all. The winner with the most correct guesses of 5 took away the prize!
Lee who attended the function with her mum Jean, a resident in our serviced apartments, was thrilled to attend the event, as she had usually missed it due to work commitments “I enjoyed the food, really nice to chat to people who were Mum’s neighbours when she was in the Independent Living Unit, as Mum has been here a very long time”.
Resident Joan, attended with her daughter Judith, who also said “Mum likes me to come and I have attended many times. Mum likes me here because I stir up the table and provide interesting conversation. The decorations are really nice too”.
All in all, the day was a great success with over 50 guests attending, including 3 daughters who attended the function with their mothers.
