Two residents of the Aveo Peregian Springs Country Club retirement village on the Sunshine Coast recently organised a fabulous social event for the village.
Desolie Gleeson and Bronwyn West organised a Black, White and Pearl themed dinner in early February which saw 56 village resident dress up in their black and white finest, with layers of beautiful pearls, of course. Bronwyn decorated the tables beautifully while village chef, Joyce prepared a decadent meal of coq-au-vin or roast beef served with seasonal vegetables, followed by cheesecake with cream and strawberries for dessert. The village bar opened at 5pm for pre-dinner drinks before the delicious meal was served.
By all accounts, the event was a fantastic success and provided the residents with the chance to mingle and unwind. The next major event on the Aveo Peregian Springs calendar is a 1920s themed dinner to be held in June, complete with entertainment from a local crooner featuring music from the roaring ‘20s.
