The Lions Club of Peregian held a very important fund raising event at the Aveo Peregian Springs Country Club retirement village on Saturday 29th November 2014.

The event featured a bargain hunt where village residents, their family and friends, and members of the local community were asked to donate items and pre-loved treasures for sale. Many residents, and their family and friends gave up their time to assist on the day which saw hundreds of people walk into the village empty handed, but walk out with bags of treasured goodies at bargain prices. This event enabled the Lions Club of Peregian, headed by Aveo Peregian Springs resident Jackie Stewart, to raise in excess of $4,000 for the Lions Emergency Accommodation Centre in Nambour.

Lions Club Ambassador and Peregian Springs local, Darren Percival (The Voice 2012 semi-finalist) made a special appearance at the fund raiser with his family. Darren has an outstanding reputation in Australia as an accomplished entertainer, recording artist, musician, vocal coach and singer with natural talent, imagination and skill. His voice is warm and powerful and he consistently delivers astonishing performances in a variety of different settings.

A special thank you to Aveo Peregian Springs residents Bronwyn West, Desolie Gleeson and Irene Gibbons for their efforts and the many residents who are part of the Lions Club of Peregian. The talented Don Goodey donated two beautiful paintings which were adored by all who attended the event.
