Aveo Derwent Waters Residents Get Crafty for Charity

Members of the craft group at the Aveo Derwent Waters retirement village in Hobart recently donated nearly $1,100, raised at craft stalls, to the Seven Mile Cancer and Caring Auxiliary who support patients at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).

The Auxiliary, in turn, have put this generous donation towards the purchase of equipment for patients undergoing treatment at the RHH in the oncology clinics and stroke unit. The Auxiliary also recently gave the community relations unit at the RHH a range of beautiful baby clothes which were knitted by the Aveo Derwent Waters craft group. The community relations unit have given the garments to mothers attending the Young Mums Clinic. The Aveo Derwent Waters craft group work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds and create beautiful craft items for donation.
