The residents of the Aveo Concierge Balwyn retirement village in Melbourne celebrated Easter early this year with a festive dinner to mark the occasion on Wednesday, 1 April. 62 people attended the event including members of the local Probus Club and local church group, as well as village employees, residents, and their family and friends. Guests gathered in the village’s main lounge at 5:30pm for a glass of champagne or juice upon arrival, before being seated for dinner in the dining room. Upon being seated, guests were treated to a glass of wine or soft drink and a range of delicious antipasto platters. The main course was a choice of baked Atlantic salmon or chicken roulade, and dessert was a tasty apple and black cherry strudel, followed by tea and coffee with chocolate Easter eggs. A range of Easter raffle prizes were donated by the village’s residents committee including a large fluffy bunny with a large chocolate egg which was won by a resident. Second prize was an AFL chocolate egg which was won by a member of the Probus Group, while the lucky door prize was a large decorated chocolate egg which was won by a member of the local church group. The evening was enjoyed by all who attended, and provided the chance for everyone to relax and mingle prior to Easter. The catering was a great success with many people commenting on the beautiful food provided.
