Aveo Concierge Balwyn Hosts Pastry Chef, Rob Melis

The Aveo Concierge Balwyn retirement village in Melbourne recently hosted a special afternoon tea featuring a cake decorating demonstration by celebrated patisserie chef and William Angliss Institute teacher, Rob Melis.

Over 30 people attended the demonstration including village residents and guests, and watched Rob Melis prepare a beautiful cake of vanilla sponge, jam and cream, coated with a layer of cream and chocolate, decorated with chocolate dipped strawberries. Following Rob’s demonstration, guests enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea together which featured a range of cakes, biscuits, muffins and choux pastries filled with chocolate and berry cream patisserie. Guests who were visiting the village were also treated to an exclusive tour of the facilities and apartments for sale.

The afternoon was a great success by all accounts and those who attended thoroughly enjoyed Rob’s fun and informative demonstration.
