Just over 12 months ago, a resident of the Aveo Carisfield retirement village in Seaton came up with the idea of forming a social group for fellow residents over the age of 90 to meet monthly for a fun, social catch up.
The idea was discussed with the Village Manager and the Residents Committee and, with their permission, the group was formed. From just four members at the first meeting, the group has now grown to eight members, with an eager waitlist of people who are approaching the 90 year milestone waiting in the wings. The group thoroughly enjoy the company of one another and have even cancelled their tap dancing sessions in favour of the more interesting discussions of the over 90s group.
The photo above was taken at the group’s last meeting for 2014 where they enjoyed a delicious Devonshire morning tea together.
