13 eager residents of the Aveo Amity Gardens retirement village on the Gold Coast recently enjoyed an eight day South Australia Discovery Tour together.
The tour included a five night Murray River cruise aboard the Proud Mary and a two night stay at the Adelaide Hilton Hotel. The 13 travellers departed from Aveo Amity Gardens on the 21st of September before arriving in Adelaide that afternoon to enjoy eight days of food, fun and sightseeing. The Murray River cruise took the group from Woodlane to Mannum to Walker Flat to Swann Reach and back again over the course of five nights. During the tour, the group were treated to a range of activities and experiences including an Australian themed dinner complete with traditional bush foods, guided bushwalks, winery visits, a nocturnal coach tour and more. The group also visited Martindale Hall which was featured in the film Picnic at Hanging Rock and enjoyed a presentation on board the Proud Mary at the Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Conservation Park.
The trip was a wonderful experience for all involved and provided many once in a lifetime opportunities for the group.
