Aveo residents are embarking on an exciting cultural immersion trip to Shanghai, the first of its kind offered by Australia’s leading retirement provider, Aveo.

The two week tour will offer senior Australians the opportunity to fulfil their travel ambitions and experience authentic, Chinese culture, without sacrificing the comfort and support of a high-quality village community.

The group of 19 Aveo residents will call the Aveo China Campus home for a period of two weeks, providing a base to explore the ancient and culturally-rich city.

Located in the ancient Shanghai town of Zhujiajiao and home to over 2,500 Chinese residents, the Aveo China Campus is a superior retirement village with state-of-the-art leisure and care facilities including an expansive shopping village, pools, tennis courts and access to around-the-clock health support.

Aveo China Group General Manager, Julie Jackson, said the Aveo China Campus is the perfect base for senior Australians to live and explore Shanghai like a local, while still enjoying the safety and security offered by an Aveo village community.

“Many older Australians have demonstrated an appetite for adventure, however some retirees may be apprehensive to travel without the support they are used to,” she said.

“We’re taking the hassle out of the experience to enable retirees the freedom to make the most of their senior years and to live, travel and retire positively.

“With every detail taken care of for their stay, the Australian travellers will be able to meet the Chinese residents and fully immerse themselves in the local culture.”

From tasting authentic Chinese cuisine to witnessing ancient traditions first-hand, the Australian cohort will also tour the famous gardens and tranquil pools of the Suzhou along with a stunning acrobatic show at Shanghai Circus World.

The group will also be able to experience traditional Chinese arts such as tai chi and calligraphy, discover the secrets of Chinese cooking, and will learn to converse with the locals in Mandarin.

With the Chinese Cultural Experience limited to 20 Aveo residents, four times per year, demand is high with booking enquiries received all the way in to 2018.
