“There were about 30 of my artworks hanging on the wall of the meeting room,” Mr Spencer said.
“My style is landscapes, particularly of Cornwall, but I’ve also been asked to paint portraits, pets and scenery of where people used to live.”
Since downsizing to the northern beaches’ retirement village six months ago Spencer has swapped oil paints for pastels.
“Oils were too messy on the carpet and they smell, so I have taken up pastel crayons and pencils,” he said.
This is a wonderful hobby as it encourages the creative parts of the mind to remain active. The Bayview Gardens art group meets on Mondays and Tuesdays.
