The Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary recently visited residents of Aveo The Haven for a hands-on experience with some of their furry and scaly animals. Over 20 residents absolutely loved touching and even holding the various snakes, lizards, marsupials and birds. Some brave residents allowed the snakes to get comfortable around their shoulders and arms!
The Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary gave a fantastic presentation and had many interesting facts to share. This was the first time the sanctuary has visited Aveo The Haven but all those who attended, and a jealous few who missed out, are looking forward to another visit in the future.
Many residents were so impressed that they made donations to the Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary for their efforts.
Narelle MacPherson and David Cobbold bought the remaining 28 acres of the Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary in the hopes of saving the once vibrant reserve which was abandoned 4 years ago. They are seeking donations to buy the neighbouring lake which once was home to the platypus and many other animals.
