In support of the Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon campaign, the Aveo New South Wales sales team recently organised a fundraising initiative at several Aveo retirement villages, collecting gold coin donations in exchange for piggy banks.
The idea for the fundraiser came about after Aveo exhibited at a recent retirement expo in Sydney. Those manning the exhibition stand were handing out free Aveo branded piggy banks to delegates, with the items quickly becoming the hottest commodity at the expo. Given the popularity of the piggy banks the Aveo NSW sales team team organised the fundraiser within selection Sydney retirement villages to raise awareness for the Cancer Council. Over $560 was raised through the sale of the piggy banks and the Aveo sales team made a contribution to bring the total donation to $1,000.
Kai Drescher, Sales Manager of Aveo New South Wales, and sales assistant, Elizabeth Ferris, presented the $1,000 cheque to Charlotte Raman of the Cancer Council earlier this month. Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon campaign funds breast and gynaecological cancer research, prevention strategies, and provides clinical and emotional support to those affected by cancer.
