Aveo Mingarra Launches Latest Stage
The latest stage of the Aveo Mingarra retirement village in Croydon had recently been completed, with construction finalised in late September. There has…
Leading retirement provider Aveo Group has announced record interest in its $250 million Newstead development as a new generation of retirees look to settle in Brisbane’s first integrated vertical retirement community.
Situated in the Gasworks precinct, seniors are gravitating to Aveo Newstead which will feature 144 one, two and three bedroom apartments including eight penthouses, plus 154 aged care beds and apartments.
Residents move in from June this year and Aveo CEO Geoff Grady says both the premier location and the integrated care solution have largely been the contributors to the project’s success, providing premium retirement living united with sophisticated residential aged care options above a vibrant urban village.
“Aveo Newstead has been our most successful off-the-plan development to date, the significant level of enquiry has been driven by the fact we are placed within one of Brisbane’s most desirable suburbs,” Mr Grady said.
“We are even attracting interest from interstate with prospective residents coming from as far as Melbourne and Canberra to see first-hand just how special this community really is.”
“The total community areas span almost 3,681sqm from the panoramic city skyline views from the rooftop lounge on Level 19, floor to ceiling glass private dining room and lounge to the largest community recreational landscaped terraces in Brisbane, retirees will simply have it all.”
Unique to Aveo Newstead, residents will even have access to a tech bar complete with a ‘tech angel’, a staff member on-hand to help navigate those in need of support, anything from setting up their Google Home to configuring smart TVs and personals devices, with learning programs available to all.
“We’re seeing that seniors are embracing technology at a rapid pace, which is why we want to ensure our residents can enjoy the many benefits of the ever-changing digital game,” Mr Grady added.
More than 800 enquiries have been received with Independent Living Apartments attracting strong sales and interest with more than $40 million worth of this category sold off the plan to date, ahead of the aged care living options to be released to market next month.
The varying living options on offer form part of the decision to purchase within this community while the premier amenities are also considered a key factor in the outcome. On-site recreational amenities include a virtual golf simulator, an all-weather multipurpose activity lawn, a gymnasium specially designed for low impact exercise, a luxurious day spa, library, private movie theatre, a-la-carte restaurant, bar, business centre and a beauty salon. Also offered is a wellness suite with GP services, and a wide range of allied health services.
Semi-retired Brisbanite Susie Lawson and her husband Peter currently live in a waterfront apartment in the heart of Southbank, but recently purchased one of Aveo Newstead’s sub-penthouses for the lifestyle aspect, the range of amenities on your doorstep and the quality care on offer.
“My husband was diagnosed with dementia and I wanted to transition him into a new living arrangement with long-term care prospects before his condition worsened,” Susie said.
“At Aveo, he will become familiar with a routine in a really beautiful environment with lots of activities and lots of walks available to keep the mind busy.”
“I was already familiar with the Newstead area and then I saw a Facebook post about the development – within a week I had already selected our apartment… it was a fast and easy process for us.”
Mr Grady added that Aveo Newstead’s leading care and wellbeing services have been incorporated to ensure residents can age in place over time.
“Aveo Newstead offers unrivalled flexibility with all the care needs necessary in one location, truly creating a community for life,” he said.
“We want to make sure our residents and their families have peace of mind when shifting into this stage of life so if their health circumstances change, they don’t have to move.”
Apartments within the community feature zero-step-flush thresholds, intelligent storage within high end joinery, gourmet kitchens with feature lighting, soft close drawers and stone surfaces, spacious ensuite bathrooms with double vanities, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors separating living areas from outdoor spaces, with 40 per cent of balconies able to be enclosed if desired.
Independent Living Apartments at Aveo Newstead start from $449,000* while penthouses range in price from $1,799,000* to $2,199,000* and are close to sold out.
The Aveo Newstead sales office is open from Monday to Saturday 10:30am to 4:00pm and is located in Shop 4 of Gasworks Plaza, Newstead.
