Leading retirement provider Aveo Group officially unveiled the first stage of its $60 million Aveo Robertson Park community redevelopment with a grand opening event on Wednesday, 16 May.

Stage 1 comprises of two new buildings, which will feature 34 Independent Living Units and a brand new community and recreational area. These new amenities will include contemporary lounge and dining areas, gourmet community kitchen, bar, beauty and hairdressing salon, gymnasium, library, swimming pool and landscaped communal gardens.

To support the residents further, the new community amenities will provide treatment and consulting rooms to accommodate a range of allied health and care professionals, as well as providing residents with visiting home care services, including an occupational therapist, physiotherapist and podiatrist.

Aveo CEO Geoff Grady said the redevelopment symbolises a benchmark in developing retirement communities to meet the changing needs of our current residents and baby boomers.

“As with any redevelopment that Aveo undertakes, we regularly consult with residents to ascertain how the design and layout of amenities will best benefit their retirement years and enhance their lifestyle,” Mr Grady said.

“The new buildings in Stage 1 will boast almost 1000sqm of community recreational areas as well as contemporary and spacious Independent Living Apartments, designed to enhance our residents’ retirement lifestyle without sacrificing on premium finishes, quality or security.

“A variety of one, two and three bedroom properties offer spacious terraces or private courtyards, which is perfect for entertaining family or friends – the community centre will allow residents to participate in varying weekly activities too.

“Aveo Robertson Park was established in 1987 and this redevelopment to the community ensures we are balancing the needs of our residents with improved stylish amenities and providing the standards in apartment living retirees expect today.”

Joan Barrett is one of many locals looking to take advantage of a modern retirement community and is looking forward to moving into the first stage of development in June this year.

“I’m excited to be moving into Aveo Robertson Park as I have lived in Sunnybank for 45 years and feel so lucky to be able to stay in a familiar area in my latter years,” Ms Barrett said.

“Aveo Robertson Park meets most of my needs for the future as it is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, movies, buses, hospital, health specialists and the dentist.

“My social activities in recent years have been centred around bowls, cards, Probus and my craft group – it is good to know I will still be able to continue with these activities plus I look forward to the new activities on offer at the new community.”

With a growing ageing population, Mr Grady added that care and wellbeing services at Aveo Robertson Park would remain a focus for the community.

“It’s extremely important we provide our residents and their families with a peace of mind, ensuring we have the necessary allied health and care services for our residents to age in place over time, is absolutely imperative,” Mr Grady said.

It is anticipated the entire redevelopment will be finalised in 2020, with Stage 2 expected to begin within the year. Prospective buyers are invited to visit the sales office and arrange a personal tour.

Apartments within Stage 1 of Aveo Robertson Park start from $399,000. The community is located on 7 Braddock St in Robertson and is just 15km from the bustling CBD of Brisbane.
