Leading retirement provider Aveo Group has received approval for a $27 million Residential Aged Care Facility at its flagship retirement community, The Clayfield.
This will be the final stage within The Clayfield and will feature 105 aged care beds spanning six levels. The approval will also include an extension of its existing community amenities to include a day spa, beauty salon, education, craft, music & learning centre, theatre and residents’ bar.
The Clayfield currently houses 235 independent living units across five separate structures and incorporates three heritage-listed properties, Highland House and Whytecliffe House constructed in circa 1869 and 1876 respectively, as well as O’Driscoll Hall which was built around 1926.
Aveo CEO Geoff Grady said the approval marks a milestone for The Clayfield.
“As the country’s only ASX-listed company focused solely on retirement, we’re extremely pleased to receive the green light and start the final journey of our flagship Integrated Living Community,” Mr Grady said.
“This is the final piece of The Clayfield’s puzzle and we’re looking forward to delivering a state-of-the-art Residential Aged Care Facility for the residents of this thriving community so they can age in place.
“Care and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do – residents already have access to a Health and Wellness centre and can take advantage of a full range of support services including a 24-hour emergency call system, physiotherapist, medical, nursing and home care.”
Other on-site benefits that residents of The Clayfield enjoy include a premium restaurant ‘The Carriage House’, a heated indoor pool, gym, library and a personal concierge service.
The Clayfield currently features Private Aged Care where residents are provided with quality aged care in luxurious new apartments.
Mr Grady added that Aveo is continually committed to addressing the existing and future care needs of its residents.
“Once the doors are open to this world-class residential aged care facility, The Clayfield will offer additional services for seniors to age in place, meaning this will be a community for life so that residents can remain amongst their neighbours and friends even if they require more care down the track,” Mr Grady said.
Anticipated to be delivered in 2020, The Clayfield will join Aveo’s two other integrated living communities in Brisbane – Aveo Durack and Aveo Newstead – offering a full continuum of care services for residents as they age.
The Clayfield is located at 469 Sandgate Road, Albion and apartments range in price from $450,000.
