A new five-story residential complex, The Molloy, will be built at Albion.
Aveo Group’s $27.5 million development is part of The Clayfield retirement complex and features 66 one, two and three bedroom apartments.
Named in honour of a past principal of St Columban’s College which occupied the historic site from the late 1930s until recently, it will complement The Clayfield’s existing residences, Eagle and Brooks.
The new development will include support services such as hairdressing, meals, nursing carte, and a 24-hour emergency call system.
Apartments range in price from $450,000 – $1.1 million.
The building will feature an indoor pool, auditorium, gym, concierge, restaurant and cafe.
Chief executive Geoff Grady said it would “meet the evolving needs of modern retirees”, particularly those looking for inner-city locations close to established infrastructure and facilities.
He said the launch of Molly followed the recent $1.5 million restoration of Highlands House, which would serve as a community centre for residents.
