Lady’s Day golfing success for charity

Home / Community Life / Lady’s Day golfing success for charity

Over 90 golfers, including some Aveo Newcastle residents, recently competed in the Lady Golfers Charity Day at the Shortland Waters Golf Club in Newcastle. Men and women were both welcome to enter the 18-hole competition that was sponsored by Aveo.

Raffle tickets were sold for great prizes donated by the Aveo Newcastle restaurant, wineries in the Hunter Valley and much more. Market stalls showcasing local baked goods, plants and other items were a success on the day and Aveo Newcastle residents donated handmade items for the blind auction.

Funds raised on the day are donated to a different charity each year. This year over $4,800 was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis service at John Hunter Children’s Hospital.

After the formalities everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch and presentation to announce the winners from the competition and present the cheque to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all.
