Residents and staff at Aveo Durack Aged Care have welcomed two new companion dogs to the village to offer companionship to residents. Polly, a 7 and a half year old King Charles Cavalier and Ebby, a 3 year old Pembroke Corgi who is a former show dog work closely with multiple staff members at Aveo Durack Aged Care and spend a lot of time giving companionship to residents living with dementia. Polly and Ebby continue to undergo human-canine training which provides them with the necessary skills to work in an animal-assisted therapy setting. Both Polly and Ebby are adored by the residents and staff who enjoy seeing their happy faces regularly.
