General Manager IT and Service Delivery

Role overview

At Aveo, Australia's leading seniors living provider, we have a newly created opportunity for a hands-on General Manager - IT & Service Delivery based in our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office.

 

About the role

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you will be responsible for leading the development, delivery and execution of day-to-day and future IT Operation activities. You will achieve this, in part, by supporting a team to deliver and exceed stakeholder expectations through responsiveness, excellence in customer service and proactive solutions.

You will be comfortable leading from the front to develop a deep understand Aveo's current IT state. You will use this experience to develop and delivery on a technology roadmap to modernise Aveo's IT infrastructure based on current and future needs.


The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to an internal team to provide IT operational service delivery and support across our network
  • Oversee delivery of data centre, IoT, EUC and Azure Cloud Platform services to agreed budget, tech debt and security targets
  • Ensure effective risk management strategies are in place to mitigate service disruption risks including Disaster Recovery for Cloud, PERS and network infrastructure
  • Work with Executives and Managers to develop, agree, report on and review SLAs required to meet Aveo's requirements.
  • Ensure IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that the Aveo IT platform is modern and current and providing the best possible operational outcome for our business. This includes managing the IT vendor support landscape and being responsible for the IT operations budget.
  • Proactively monitor and manage Service Desk performance.
  • Proactive management of external vendors and support


To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Degree level qualifications in an IT related discipline
  • A Subject Matter Expert for all matters related to IT operations including Customer Service (ServiceDesk), IT Platform (cloud, infrastructure, networking), and Application Support.
  • An outcome and delivery focused IT professional with at least 10 years' experience working in IT infrastructure, operations, and technology management.
  • Vendor and relationship management with key technology partners
  • Ability to build rapport with all levels of management and employees easily
  • Passionate and committed to a high work ethic and professional standard
  • Industry experience is desirable but not essential
