Meet Jo, Freedom Tanah Merah's Diversional Therapist!
Jo loves being able to make a difference in people’s lives, a passion that she brings with her to Freedom Tanah Merah each and every day. As Diversional Therapist, Jo creates activities and events for residents to assist in their social development and promote wellbeing.
We caught up with Jo recently to find out what she has to say about Freedom Tanah Merah.
How have you been helping residents stay socially connected in recent months?
“In the last few months in particular, one of the most worrisome issues for seniors has been isolation and loneliness. I have found that themed events and parties have been the best way to get residents out and enjoying each other’s company, even if at a distance. Whether it be a pool party, a rock n roll party or a themed lunch or dinner, we’ve been working hard to make these events that extra bit special.”
Tell us about community life at Freedom Tanah Merah.
“Community life is all about the connections between the residents and the truth they have in the community and care teams. My job is to bring all of this together with a holistic approach to care and wellbeing. Residents are happy when they feel safe and secure, and know that assistance is just a buzz away, should they need it.”
Would you say that Freedom Tanah Merah is a welcoming and secure place to call home?
“I think the community offers real peace-of-mind for both residents and their loved ones that they can enjoy an independent lifestyle and receive as little or as much care and support as they need, if they need it. I think that’s what sets Freedom Care Communities apart.”
