Aveo Derwent Waters Residents Bid Staff for Charity

Aveo Derwent Waters residents proudly hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in support of the Cancer Council, raising a whopping $2,185 for cancer research. The morning tea was attended by more than 50 guests including village staff, residents and their friends and family, who enjoyed a cheerful morning of fundraising over fluffy scones and warm tea. During the May 28, event residents had the pleasure of bidding for village staff who were offering an array of handy services from car washing and unit cleaning, to technology support, bringing in over $700. Local businesses also got involved donating rugs, gift vouchers, and dinners to the lucky bidders, while residents sold home-made cakes and chutneys. Derwent Waters resident Francisca, donated her beautifully hand-crafted jewellery, which was a crowd favourite at the crafts stall. The fundraising success is a true testament to the outstanding community at Aveo Derwent Waters, who rallied together along with staff to put on a wonderful event.
