You’ll step into a bygone era when you enter the magnificent, heritage listed building at Aveo The Braes. This quintessentially Australian homestead was built in the 19th century by a local doctor, about the same time the area was becoming South Australia’s first commercial vineyard. Impeccably restored to its former glory, the homestead is now the hub of community life for the retirement village.

Equally spectacular are the gardens at Aveo The Braes. With an array of beautiful roses throughout, a stroll around its streets is a delightful experience. Each home also has its own landscaped garden, most with private outdoor entertaining areas.

Aveo The Braes is well located with handy shopping at Old Reynella and Happy Valley Shopping Centres. Our community bus is available for regular shopping trips too. The theatres, galleries and restaurants of central Adelaide are always a wonderful day out.

Living Options

Designed to be self-contained, familiar and homely, our Independent Living Units are light filled and spacious. You have a choice of 1, 2, or 3 bedroom units, most with garages, and all with private rear backyards.

The village’s additional services include three course lunches in the village dining room, weekly cleaning and laundry if required. Independent Living residents can choose services on a user-pays basis.

Our 28, one bedroom Flexi Units are located within an extension of the homestead community building. These modern, well-designed Flexi Units include a spacious bedroom, lounge, ensuite, kitchen and garden area. We customise our services to your individual needs. In addition to a three course daily lunch, Flexi Unit residents can choose to extend their services to an evening meal, weekly cleaning and laundry services on a user-pays basis.

There is a staff member available on-site 24 hours, 7 days a week for emergencies, giving you and your family peace-of-mind. Should you go away on holiday, it is also reassuring to know that someone will be watching over your home.
