Celebrating 20 years of community spirit

The importance of community was highlighted yesterday as Aveo Hampton Heath’s retirement village celebrated 20 years of operation.

More than 60 people attended the 20th anniversary event, where guests were welcomed by the new Village Manager, Manny Vella.

Recognising the importance of the Aveo Hampton Heath retirement village in the Hampton Park community, the event was attended by the City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz, Deputy Mayor, Cr Wayne Smith and Cr Lynette Keleher.

Mayor Aziz highlighted the great achievement by the retirement village in providing retirement accommodation to the local community, and thanked the residents and Aveo for their contribution to the village.

Dawn Dakin, the only resident to have lived at the village since its opening 20 years earlier, had the privilege of cutting the cake with Mayor Aziz and Deputy Mayor Smith, as well as being presented with flowers as a small thank you for her role in shaping the Aveo Hampton Heath community spirit.

Aveo was pleased to mark this occasion with Aveo Hampton Heath residents and community members, and looks forward to many more years of providing accommodation to allow residents to live well with ease and enjoy the strong bonds of community life.
